Port of Lhokseumawe
Port of Lhokseumawe functions as export and import of raw materials for Industries specially for industrial zone in Lhokseumawe.
Location / Position
Port of Lhokseumawe is located in the North Coast of North Aceh Regency. Geographically it is on the position of.
05o – 10’ –15’’ North Latitude
07o – 09’ – 27 East Longtitude
The Hydrographic and Oceanography
a. Hydrographic
The coast along the port of Lhokseumawe is sloopy and sandy. The vessel should navigate carefully because there are submarine pipes of 63,3 miles long extending northwest ward from 05o-13’-25’’ NL / 97o-05’-52’’ EL until 05o-44’-28’’ NL/97o – 50’ – 13 EL.

Mean High Water Spring : 2,20 m MWS
Lowest Low Water Spring : 0,10 m LWS

c. Current
Condition and The Hinterland
The development of the port can not be separated from the development of oil and gas mining industry, fertilizers and papers industry
Besides there is a quick development of palm plantation which will be expected to be excellent non oil commodity.
The hinterlands also produce some agriculture commodities such as coffe, areca nut, chocolate, candlenut, and sea products.
Mean while it is still being prepared and industrial area (Pase Asia Industrial Area) which is about 15 kms from the port.
Access Road
Lhokseumawe port is about 17 Kms from the center of the city Lhokseumawe with its hot-mix road
Tourism Destination
a. Historial Malikul Saleh Tomb and Ning Tomb are about 50-60 Kms the port.
The tombs are the tombs of leaders and religious teachers when the Islame came to Aceh.
b. River tourism destination
1). Sawang of about 35 Kms from the port
2). Batee Iliek of about 60 Kms from the port
3). Krueng Simpuh of about 60 Kms from the port
c. Blang Kulam Waterfall of about 25 Kms from the port
d. Beach tourism destination which is well known as Bahagia (Happy) beach of about 60 Kms from the port.
